Mrs Keast Update

We are so pleased to be able to say that Mrs Keast’s treatment is progressing well and she is staying positive. The whole Old Dalby family sends her our love, we can’t wait to see you again.

Vision Champions

Congratulations to our new Vision Champions! We had a record number of children apply for the role this year, we are incredibly proud that so many children want to take a bigger part in school life. Unfortunately, we can only have 12, so our new Vision Champions are:

Jacob W, Ruby R, Jasper H-P, Isabelle J, Elizabeth H, Izzy G, Noah F, Ella W, Bethany D, Isaac M, Olivia R, Josh H

School Dinners

From Monday, school dinners will be provided by Coombs Catering Partnership. KS2 dinners will return to £2.45. The current menu options will not change until after half term, when a new 3-week menu will be introduced.

On Thursday, 5^th October, there will be a special menu of chicken nuggets or cheese pizza, curly fries, corn on the cob and chocolate cake.

There will be gold stars stuck to the bottom of 2 plates – who ever gets a star, wins a prize!

There will be no change to how dinners are ordered or paid for.

Parents’ Evenings – October 10^th and 11^th

These are now available to book on Arbor, please phone the school office if you encounter any problems.

Cross- Country – Saturday 7^th October – Longfield

Please sign up on Arbor for this event.

The event should be completed by 11.30am.

 

Cross-Country Clinics

 

In preparation for the cross-country season, Clare Marlow, Melton & Belvoir Schools Cross Country, is running a clinic for children Years 3-9 at Longfield

4-5p.m. £2 per child on Monday 9^th, Monday 23^rd October and Monday 13^th, 27^th November.  Please contact Mrs Bryan for more details.

Beaumanor – 7^th and 8^th March 24 – Year 2

Caythorpe PGL – 15^th – 17^th May 24– Years 3 and 4

Whitby – 3^rd-7^th June 24 – Years 5 and 6

Dates for your diary:

5^th October – Census Day – Menu is Chicken Nuggets, Cheese Pizza, Curly Fries, Corn on the Cob followed by Chocolate Cake.

Monday 16^th October to Friday 20^th October – Half term holiday

27^th October – Coffee morning for parents and the community.  Proceeds to ‘Prevent Breast Cancer’ – more information to follow

17^th November – Children in Need

24^th November – Flu immunisations  - consent required, information in email sent today

4^th and 5^th December – Morning performances of EYFS and KS1 Christmas Celebration at Old Dalby Village Hall(Puffin Class, Kingfisher Class and Year 2s from Nightingale Class). Exact times to be confirmed.
