Pupil Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

Aims for our spending of the Pupil Premium:

1. To remove the barriers to learning faced by our pupils; these can be related to social or emotional difficulties, low attendance, home life or more individualised issues for specific children.

2. To close the attainment gap between children in receipt of Pupil Premium and those who are not, especially through employment and deployment of support staff.

3. To support accelerated progress for pupils to close the attainment gap.

4. To provide life experiences which would otherwise be unavailable.

5. To support the emotional health and development of pupils.

Evaluating impact:

Children are assessed at the end of each of the three school terms. As a result of these assessments, the children receive a standardised score to help teachers to make a judgement about their academic progress and attainment in line with national expectations.

To be able to evaluate the impact of the Pupil Premium spending, we closely monitor the changes in the standardised scores and use these as a measure of academic progress and attainment for all pupils and the Pupil Premium pupils. These can then be compared against each other and against national results.

We have a lower than average percentage of Pupil Premium students and so all monitoring and evaluating is anonymised to prevent identification of individual children or families.

We have a higher than average percentage of service children in our school, their results are also anonymised to prevent identification of individual children or families.

All spending and impact is reviewed at the end of the academic year with a full evaluation published at the start of the following academic year. This then helps to inform our spending for the following year.

Next review date: End of academic year 2024-25
