Weekly update, 13th January
Impetigo in Class 1
We have had a few cases of impetigo spring up in Class 1. For details of what to look out for, visit the NHS website here: Impetigo - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
Children should not be in school until the patches have dried out and crusted over or 48 hours after starting medication prescribed by your GP.
Our Vision
The start of a new year is a good time to reflect on what has been and what is to come. Following the last couple of years and how it has affected us all in different ways with different experiences, we are revisiting our vision and values to ensure they remain relevant.
Can you spare a couple of minutes to help us with this? Simply complete the form below to let us know your priorities for your children's education:

Community Meals – spaces still available
A group of local residents and businesses have offered to fund meals for up to 30 children in KS2 with the intention of offering a little extra support to local families. There are still spaces available.
Please contact Mrs Browne: rbrowne@olddalbyschool.org.uk to sign up for the scheme or for further information.
Your child does not need to have a school meal every day to sign up for the scheme.
Dinner Price and Menu
From this week, dinners will cost £2.45 a day for children in KS2.
There is now a third option on the menu - a jacket potato and topping available each day. A copy of the menu is attached.
Ratcliffe Cross Country Event
An email has gone out this week with the full details of events and timings. There is a fun run for children in Year 1 and 2, as well as competitive events for children in Years 3 – 6. An email was sent with full details on Monday. You can sign up through Arbor so Mrs Bryan knows who to expect.
Helping your child with phonics and reading
Have you ever wondered how to help your child with phonics at home? In school, we use Essential Letters And Sounds to teach phonics. They have launched a new web page filled with support resources for parents, including videos demonstrating how to say each sound:
