Weekly Update, 4th November

This week’s headlines:

Please note that our last day of term is Wednesday, 21st December which is later than some local schools. The children will return to school on Monday, 9th January.

After School Club Bookings

Please make sure you book your child(ren) into before or after school club using Arbor, or by contacting the Office, at least 24 hours in advance to help us make sure there is capacity, correct staffing and enough food!

We do understand there might be emergencies where you need to contact us on the day but otherwise please give as much notice as possible.

Scholastic Book Fair

We will be hosting a book fair in school from 8th – 15th of November. Classes will have time to visit during the day and parents are welcome to pop in at the end of school.

Archery and Frisbee Day – Monday, 7th November

Class 1 will be having a go at frisbee on Monday, whilst Classes 2 upwards will all be trying their hand at archery. This does not affect any PE sessions and PE kit is not required unless it is the class’s normal PE day.

Key Stage 2, Virtual School Games – Thursday, 10th November

All children in years 3, 4, 5, and 6 will need to be in PE kit on Thursday, 10th November as they will be taking part in a virtual School Games athletics event. They will complete a variety of challenges, submit their scores and see how we do against other schools in the area.

Rags to Riches, Old Clothes Collection – Monday, 14th November

On Monday, 14th November we will be collecting old clothes to raise funds for school. Bags should have come home this week, please send them back in to school on the 14th (please not before!).

Winter Support Offer

I have been approached by some local residents who would like to offer financial support through the winter months to ease the burden on all families, as the cost of living continues to increase. We have agreed three potential ways this could be done, to help us make the best of this offer, please take a moment to answer the survey here:

https://forms.office.com/r/yzgDPf188K

Any help will be offered to everyone, there will be no need to apply or request it.

Survey responses will be anonymous.

Christmas Shopping Evening – Thursday, 17th November, doors open at 7pm

Plans are well under way for our festive shopping night. We have some lovely stalls lined up ...silverlincsdesigns jewellery, Flossie & Fred, Body Shop, Happy Bunny Candles, Smartsy Glass to name but a few. Please save the date and bring your friends and family along, entry is free.

Upcoming sports events to look out for on Arbor:

Wednesday, 9th November – Year 5/6 Dodgeball

Monday, 21st November – Year 5/6 Basketball

Wednesday, 23rd November – Wheelchair Roadshow

Wednesday, 7th December – KS2 Sports Hall Athletics

We are doing our best to minimise the times we need to ask for help with transport – thank you for your ongoing support with this.

Unfortunately, a sport trip often results in class PE days changing – look out for emails with details of swaps. We do know this must be frustrating at times, we do try to keep the disruption down to a minimum.
