Spring Term 2

Value Focus: Friendship

Welcome back!

This term our topic is The Lost World and we are learning all about dinosaurs. We will find out about when and how they lived and learn about their characteristics. Towards the end of term, we will look at the Easter story.

PHONICS

As mentioned at Parent Evening, this term we will be recapping phase 3 sounds which gives us chance to consolidate and improve fluency with sounds already taught. There will be a few more tricky words to learn so please look out for Precision Teach sheets sent out in Partnership Diaries. Homework will continue to be sent on Fridays and is due in the following Wednesday please.

MATHS

We start two digit numbers this term (10, 11, 12). We will continue to master the numbers to 10 and learn about place value.  We will also focus on doubles and number bonds. In addition, we will look at measures and shape.

PE / FOREST SCHOOL

Forest school will start again on Mondays. Please remember to send your child in old clothes and send waterproofs, hats and gloves etc in a carrier bag. The carrier bag is useful to then send home wet and muddy waterproofs!  Our PE day stays on a Thursday.

If you have any questions you can jot them in the Partnership Diary as this is checked daily. Alternatively you can always ask at the end of the day. If it is something which you'd rather keep private or may take a little longer to discuss please arrange a time with the office. Thank you in advance for the support you'll be giving your child at home, it really is invaluable.
