Poppy Playtime and Huggy Wuggy
The game is described online as an “introduction to horror”, with videos, versions of the game and associated material becoming increasingly popular and available on YouTube, Roblox and other platforms often accessed by young children. Although the game is mainly available for PCs, there are multiple versions available for download and play on Roblox, Minecraft and in various app stores.
Poppy Playtime features frightening images and themes that are paired with child-friendly items.
Poppy Playtime is also a popular subject of “play through” videos on Youtube, where viewers watch as someone else plays the game. There are also a lot of videos with associated content specifically aimed at children and encourage them to seek out the source materials. Some of these associated materials have been found on YouTube Kids.
