Weekly Update, 21st April
Good afternoon,
Welcome back!
This week’s headlines:
Congratulations to our Boccia team!
3 members of Classes 4 and 5 represented Melton and Belvoir in the county finals this week and came a fantastic fifth! Well done to Isaac, Hugo and Thomas!
Fosse Schools Concert, Wednesday, 26th April
Children from KS2 have been practising to take part in a singing concert with Asfordby Hill, Thrussington and Church Hill schools. We can have up to 25 children, with two parent/guardian tickets per child.
Children will need to arrive at Wreake Valley Academy, in Syston, at 5:30pm for a rehearsal with the other schools and then the concert will begin at 6:30pm. It should finish around 7:30pm.
There is a café where parents and adults can wait in between arriving and taking your seats.
Full details will be available on Arbor for you to sign up.
NEU Teacher Strikes
The NEU has called for 2 more strike days – Thursday, 27th April and Tuesday, 2nd May. As before, not all our teachers are eligible to strike, but those that are do not have to let the school know in advance. If I know of any likely disruption in advance, I will let you know.
A message from the Vision Champions
Dear Parents/Carers,
The Old Dalby Vision Champions have made some ideas boxes that help the school to improve, they are near all the classes and one is located near the School Office. You are very welcome to put your ideas in the boxes. We would put the ideas forward and see what we can do, the Vision Champions check the boxes every meeting. We look forward to receiving your ideas to improve the school!
From Jake, Hugo and all of the Vision Champions.
Celebrating the Coronation
We will be celebrating the King’s coronation by wearing red, white and blue on Friday, 12th May. This is also the last day of Year 6 SATs so it will be a double celebration for some! The Prefects are going to be planning the afternoon which will include a visit from Rev’d Jamie with some very special gifts for everyone from the Church. More information will follow. As soon as arrangements have been made.
